FESTIVAL GUIDE
GETLIPPY HOT PICKS
Glastonbury
Glastonbury has come under a fair bit of fire this year following the announcement that hip-hop artiste extrodinarie, Jay-Z, had been invited to headline the festival. You can read co-organiser Emily Eavis's defense of this decision here Emily Eavis: The real reason we invited Jay-Z to Glastonbury. Though despite over-hyped reports of sluggish ticket sales and general doom and gloom, we say ignore the doubters - Glastonbury is set for a bumper year with a huge and diverse array of must-see acts taking to the stage - and the tickets are indeed going like hotcakes with over 100,000 snapped up on the first day.
Whether you're a festival virgin or an Glasto old pro this festival is the Mecca for those that want more than just a gig venue. Joining Jay-Z watch out for the Kings Of Leon, Hot Chip and many more. Alongside the numerous stages you'll find whole areas dedicated to too many weird and wonderful things to name from green villages to over 1,200 different theatre and circus shows, making Glastonbury a must for those who want a weekend to remember, and not only for the turbulent weather.
