Beyond Retro

Beyond Retro is a huge vintage store just off Brick lane, filled to the brim with unique garments and accessories.

Why is it hot?

It is a perfect example of how a great vintage store should be. Rails and rails of goodies spill out at the seams with hats and shoes in abundance. The clothes are hand picked and span from 1900- 1990. The volume and selection provided are a credit to this store and guarantees the customer will leave with at least one bargain. Even the men's selection is surprisingly vast. The ever fashionable Mighty Boosh are keen supporters of the sister shop in Soho and filmed part of their documentary in there as well as The Fashion Show filming in the Brick Lane store.

Bargain or Blowout?

A shopping spree at Beyond Retro will definitely save you a few pennies compared to the high street and guarantee some one off pieces. Goodies range from gorgeous tea dresses at £15 or more elegant evening dresses at £20, denim or leather skirts for £10, t-shirts for £5 and a whole host of bags at around £12 a pop.

I left the store with a gorgeous high waisted green velvet skirt for £15, a leather clutch bag for £12 and a feathered black head piece for £6.

Target customer?

Any fashion focused girls with an independent streak would love Beyond Retro. Misha Barton would be in her element rummaging through the rails.

Worst part?

Image is something the staff take very seriously and they obviously know a thing or two about fashion however they can appear unapproachable and intimidating as a result.
